Adoption Process

Hours: Sunday thru Monday – 9AM to 3PM | Tuesday thru Saturday – 10AM to 6PM | Walk-ins welcome!

Take a peek at our adoptable animals—you just might meet your new best friend! If someone steals your heart, simply fill out the adoption form below. Our team will review it and reach out within 48 hours.
 
When we connect, we’ll chat about you, what you’re looking for in a pet, and which animal would be the best match for your home, family, and lifestyle.
 
Want to meet our animals? We’re happy to schedule an appointment, but walk-ins are always welcome—no appointment needed! If you find the perfect dog or cat, we often finalize adoptions the very same day. Just be sure to bring a carrier for a cat or a collar and leash for a dog.

Requirements:

Before falling in love with one of our animals, please:

  • Be 21 years of age.
  • Be certain you are allowed to have an animal at your residence.
  • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide the training, medical treatment, and proper care for the animal through the course of the animal’s life.
  • Be committed to making this pet part of your family.
  • We strongly recommend your current pets are up to date on state-required vaccinations and are spayed or neutered- but will certainly still consider those who do not have them.
  • We strongly recommend that all family members who will be living with the pet, meet the pet prior to adoption.
  • In the case that the dog you are interested in adopting is selective towards other dogs, we would require that a dog to dog meet be conducted prior to adoption.
  • In addition, please check local ordinances to find out whether your city, town, or village enforces limits on the number of pets in one household.

Animal Care Sanctuary encourages those who cannot travel to ACS to contact a nearby shelter or rescue to adopt a local pet who needs a home. Please plan on spending at least one hour for the adoption process. We are confident that you’ll agree that this small investment of time will be well worth the years of enjoyment that will result from finding the perfect match.
